Been Awhile

Yes, it's been awhile since my last post. So I chalk some of it up to forgetting and the other to just not having anything to say. Really not much going on in my life was laying low for awhile, had some things going on that I really don't want to talk about here but it all turned out well. On a much brighter note I had more work done on my back piece so here are a couple pics. Pics never do the real thing justice but hey, not everyone gets to see me in person..

Yup, gonna be awhile before she's all done. My poor phoenix looks so faded now but I'm going to give him new life once my girls is done.Nothing else going on, just laying low this weekend, fighting a cold still ... still reveling in my geekdom by ripping all my DVD's into digital format to put on boxee. I wiped clean my old macbook and that is now my media center hooked up to the TV and surround sound ... goodbye cable I don't need your stinkin bill anymore! Oh wait, yes I do for my internet ... well I don't need MOST of your bill .. nyah!

New Tattoo & Stuff

Shame on me ... I was turning over a new leaf when I started this blog and I keep forgetting ... Well, it has been a fun week so far .. I already blogged about Monday so I won't bore you with that ... yesterday was my birthday and so I took yesterday and today off from work. My cousin and I went into the city for some shopping and I started on my bday tattoo. Although considering how big it is it'll probably be done by my next bday (not really). I need to get more and better pics taken of it because this photo just does not do it justice! But you get the idea of it anyway .. it is very detailed and it's only the outline! Eeek.

I think after this one is finished I'll be done for awhile ... (snicker, I've said that before). I'm not quite sure what is going on today, we are supposed to get a snow storm tonight so I might do a bunch of running around with errands and get my snow blower ready .. ugh ... I'm so sick of this weather, I want spring!

Well .. I'm off to go do my stuff for the day!

Friday Nothings

Oops .. my bad .. haven't blogged in a few days. There is really nothing going on that warranted typing and I didn't have time to look for anything remotely funny to post. But it's FRIDAY! And at the last minute I decided to work from home. Had a doctor appt a little bit ago and then came home and started working. I thought why should I drive all the way in when I'm doing my work from here ... yea ... good call, saves on gas too I suppose although gas is cheap now again .. well whatever!

No big plans for the weekend. The band is playing tomorrow but it's kinda far and I really don't feel like driving out there so probably not going to do that. Have no Valentine's plans particularly because I really don't care about the day. Since my birthday is 5 days after it everyone always combined it with my birthday so I really don't celebrate it. Kinda like having your birthday around Christmas I guess .. well, kinda.

In other news, I'm totally stoked about starting my bday tattoo, well, on my bday! I still haven't seen the sketches but should be soon, talked with him yesterday and told him about a few other options ... For some reason every tattoo I get, is always bigger than the last .. well except the 3 on my arms but those were meant to be small and I fear will be incorporated into bigger things one day. So I will post the progress once it gets started, I haven't seen the designs yet but what we were talking I'm thinking this will be a few sittings. As Kat always says .. go big or go home baby!

Saturday = Sleeping In

It's pretty sad when I consider sleeping in to be around 7 or 8am ... I'm gettin old ... sigh .. although today I did make it to 9am which is rare. But then when I wake up that late I feel like, oh no ... I'm wasting the day I have things to do!

It was an uneventful week which is why I didn't write much ... I mean, come on after my post on Metallica the week certainly couldn't have gotten much better! I did go and see the band I follow and am friends with, Covergurl, (you can find links for them under the websites I follow down on the right) .. they were fantastic as always and much fun was had by all. It was at the new Blues Bar out in Mt. Prospect which was cool cuz I had wanted to check that place out. It was also one of our own's b-day last night and I have to say by the end of the night he was having trouble standing ... hehe!

So today I have to do some stuff around the house ... you know .. pay bills, clean, change my name on more stuff (I'm in like Flynn! .. anyone that knows me knows what that means :-) .. have to make my famous chocolate chip dip for the super bowl party tomorrow .. Go Steelers!!

I'm really digging this blog I found .. Fail Blog .. probably not new but it is to me and they have some funny shit on there so if I have nothing to say ... you'll probably see a pic or two from there.

Reclaiming Myself

Shame on me for not blogging since Saturday, I was trying to do so well too. So I ended up going out Saturday nite to see some local bands play, they were pretty good but nothing to write home about. I follow only a few bands for a reason, cuz I know them and they are good.

Sunday was a rather lazy day. I think I went from the couch to the bed back to the couch again. Cleared out some of the DVR though so it was a little productive.

Last night I went to see Metallica and let me just say they FUCKING rocked! I was a little hesitant about going because I'm old school Metallica, never really got into their new stuff but I must say they get better with age and it was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Blew The Black Crowes out of the water! (which was the last show I saw that I said was the best I've seen in awhile).

Today I've been running around reclaiming my identity .. er .. name. For any of you that don't know me I was divorced last year but didn't bother to change back to my maiden name. Something came upon me this weekend and all of a sudden I had this ever present need to change back to my "real" name ... so congrats to me, I am myself again LOL! Still have to change it on a whole heck of a lot of stuff but the main and important stuff was taken care of.

Well, that's it for now ... I feel like I need a celebratory beer or something!

Lazy Saturday Morning

I'm being a bit lazy this morning, although it's almost afternoon. I NEVER sleep in but I found myself waking up at 10:30a this morning! I was almost appalled although it was kind of nice. But I feel great even though the drinks were flowing last night. Went and saw Skid Row, total blast from the past ... they weren't very good AT all so it was disappointing but I should have known better, it really isn't Skid Row without Sebastian Bach and his voice. So if the band is bad what do you do ... drink more beer and try to find something else to entertain you!

I have some running around to do today and am trying to decide if I want to go out tonite. I'm still on the fence but I've been such a hermit lately I feel I need to get out. I'm also very excited to get Kat Von D's book today, maybe I'll just stay home tonite and read it ... I'm such a nerd!

Yay for Friday!

I don't think I'm ever in a bad mood on Friday's, it's the end of a work week, beginning of the weekend, it's the perfect day. We'll see where the wind blows me this weekend. Got some things to do around the house but also have a few invitations to go out ... what to do, what to do ...

I'm so excited Kat Von D's book finally came out, I being the book nerd that I am, have a copy waiting for me at Barnes & Noble so I'll have to go pick that up tomorrow. Oohhh, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is out today, maybe I'll go see that ... those are my most favorite movies!

Nothing else new and exciting at the moment, maybe I'll have a story or two after the weekend.

The Cat Nobody Ever Sees

Yes, I still have a cat left. This is the cat that no one ever sees because she is afraid of her own shadow but she is cute nonetheless. I originally had 3 cats but Salem died just before I moved back up here from Florida in 2005 and Simba died back in March of 2008 which just about killed me, she was my favorite. I always used to be a cat person but since getting my dog I'm like eh ... when this last cat goes, not sure I want another one, course I can't say never.

What else is going on ....

So I noticed something this morning ... the other day I was putting lotion on my face and remarking to myself that I was glad I didn't really have to worry about zits on my face like when you were a teenager ... definitely not a spring chicken anymore ... so this morning as I'm doing the same thing, to my horror I have not one, not two .. but THREE on my face now! So basically I cursed myself by thinking about it the other day. Note to self ... if I ever even start thinking of such things, squash it .. I should no better LOL!

So I was invited to see Skid Row on Friday at the fuel room. I'm feeling a little old at the moment ... as I remember loving them in high school at their first go around and I saw them then ... sigh .. should be fun though. Then of course Monday is the ever anticipated Metallica show ... I think I'll try out Qik for these and see how that works out. I used to be a huge Metallica fan but I'm just not fond of their newer stuff and how they handled the whole Napster thing, don't get me started on that ... but I'm still a huge fan of their old stuff ... And Justice for All and previous.

Well, I think I've babbled enough for now, gotta finish my coffee, get ready and get my butt to work!

A New Blog

After much deliberation I decided to start another blog. For those of you who know me and used to follow my old ones (you know who you are :-), welcome back ... I'm gonna give this another try. I was really bad at updating my old one but since I'm online ALL the time now, I figured why not.
